"I have been singing all my life, beginning at 5 years old, singing solos in church. Since then I've taught all levels music/choir in public schools. I've directed church choirs, and sung in choirs from 25-359 members. When I noticed I could no longer produce notes from the lower part of my vocal range, I was devastated. After having a speech and language evaluation visit, I was referred to a speech pathology clinic. There I was fortunate to meet Speech-Language Pathologist, Torry Farnell.

It was a very emotional first meeting, as I tearfully explained to Torry what an incredible part singing had always been in my life and how not being able to produce notes with the same quality I had always had was affecting me. I couldn't even imagine not being able to sing in choirs because of a deterioration. She reviewed the diagnosis of the referring laryngologist, viewed the DVD my laryngoscope had provided, and told me what I had was treatable, and that she would be able to help me!

From the first session to the last, she physically treated my diagnosis, with professionalism and empathy. She cared, not only for the physical restoration of my voice, but also was encouraging while working with me during my sessions. It was an amazing experience, which ended with my singing voice being completely restored!
